DM: Hydranis
PCs: Octavian, Halor, Bruzor, Obadiah, Aurora
NPCs: Thistle
Important Events:
Thistle continues to lead the party along his game trail up to the mountains. The terrain is rocky and difficult at times, but the party manages without injury. As Thistle approaches the cave in which he intends to lead the party to the pond and continuation of his game trail, he notices the entrance is completely caved in. With only two directions to choose from - a second cave or a trail path - Thistle is unsure which will lead them in the right direction.
As Thistle's anxiety increases, Bruzor inspects the cave as he can see light at the end. Upon approaching the entrance, a spear cuts Bruzor's arm and a group of Goblins appear appear inside the cave and at the party's back among the rocks. Bruzor, noticing the entrance to cave is only wide enough for him, decides to create a funnel, forcing the goblins to attack one at a time. The rest of the party engages the goblins to the rear. As the battle ensues and the goblins are killed, more arrive. Wave after wave, goblins continue to fall. A horn blows in the distance and the goblins' spirits lift slightly as their ogre charges the party. Even a fireball from Octavian wasn't enough to stop its raging charge. Thistle panics and begins to flee toward the open, unknown path.
Bruzor continues to keep the goblins from the cave at bay while the party attacks the ogre. Thistle regains his will to fight and rejoins the effort to take down the ogre. Fortunately, no one is severely injured during the battle and the party is able to defeat all foes. Now that the surroundings are free of danger, the party takes some time to make a decision - continue through the cave Bruzor began to investigate, attempt the trail path, or turn around and return to Pause...
