GM: Hydranis
Players: Halor, Octavian, Bruzor
NPC's: Thistle
Events -
Halor and Bruzor collect Octavian from his current residence and seek out Thistle for a change of plans. Rather than have Thistle guide the party through the extremely dangerous Badlands, he agrees to lead the party through the forest to the mountain ranges. Thistle discards his reputable red outfit and changes into traditional browns and greens, along with armor and weapons. He leads the group to the massive river gate where an Amazonian woman stands wearing chainmail, holding a large spear, with bright long red hair and bright eyes. Thistle leads by example, placing a silver in the bucket near her, paying to cross. Octavian pays 3 silver for the group and they all cross the bridge, then head west toward the mountains.
Thistle takes the group through the high grasses and forest, along his trap route. He explains to the group to look for his red ribbons to help guide them. During the journey, 2 torch lights are seen in the far distance for a short period and disappear into the horizon. After a short time, Thistle gives the signal to halt and goes prone, drawing sword and shield. The party follows, however, Halor in a panic drops to the ground with an audible exhale of air. A worg, with its bugbear rider, sniffs the party out and attacks.
The party members begin their assault on the creatures. Octavian successfully sets the worg on fire, forcing its rider to jump off. Octavian is also able to blind the two creatures to assist those in close combat. Bruzor, takes this opportunity to burrow just past the creatures and resurface, flanking them. Bruzor breaks the bugbear's shoulder, but is critically wounded by the worg in its sudden attack to protect its rider. Thistle, Halor, and Octavian manage to kill the worg and further injure the bugbear. Octavian revives Bruzor, in which Bruzor thanks him by way of smashing his warhammer into the bugbear crushing it to death.
Battle ridden, tired, and in need of rest, Thistle leads the group to a safe clearing. Octavian produces a hidden shelter and the party gratefully enters. They take turns keeping watch and regain their strength for the next day's adventure...
