So, due to my life situation as well as a few other major changes that have happened in the last few months, which you all know about, I have decided to ultimately cancel the final chapter of Taroson. I don't need to go into any big details about why, but since I know that at least one player will be missing that I just don't feel like rewriting, retconning, or playing as a main character just to move the story along. So with that, I'm canceling it completely and will have a written conclusion at some point. It really sucks that we cannot end this, but when people decide to throw away 8 years of life and 10 years worth of friendship I just have absolutely no interest in this game anymore. I'm not sure if I'm going to even continue with fantasy role playing and may just hang up my imaginary sword for good.
Basically, I have recently started jotting down plans and getting some drafts done to have the entire 12 or so years worth of role playing put down into novel format. I highly doubt that the works will get published, so I plan on just having several books made, one for everybody, and I'll have a PDF in case I ever want to make more.
With all of that said, I do still have an interest in that "realistic" modern shooter system and have been picking away at it here and there whenever I come up with some ideas. The plan right now is to secure another web forum that has proper dice rolling ((I think myth-weavers is capable)) and I'm going to run some scenarios as tests for all of you who would like to participate. The game is going to range from force on force, scouting missions, hostage rescue, and maybe even a zombie invasion. But right now I need to test how the system runs and try to adjust it so that it still has that "real" feeling without getting too bogged down with numbers. I know that I can write out a system that would be incredibly realistic, but would need a videogame-like program to run it all fast enough to still be fun. So with that, I'll need to dumb it down to make it fast enough to play in person, or just keep it to turn-by-turn play on a website and take it slow.
Sorry for any disappointment, but this shit isn't even half my fault. A few of you reached out to me several times throughout this ordeal and I appreciate that. Then there are those who never even bothered to talk to me, and ended up helping the very person who ruined my life. I hope you can buy something nice with thirty pieces of silver.
