This link is a map of Palperoth that I made. I will slowly add the towns and history I fleshed out already. These are all just ideas, nothing here is required to be used for Palperoth.
The Fall of Dragons: Roboc's Sacrifice
Generations ago Dragons laid waste to the lands of Palperoth. Food was often given to them as offerings which left many townspeople starving. The Halflings and Gnomes hid in the large and lush redwood forests of Ferndale to escape the dragons destruction. Ballistas were crafted to combat any attacks on the main cities but the villages and farmlands were left defenseless. The halflings and Gnomes hid in the large and lush redwood forests of Ferbdale. A wise wizard named Roboc the Red spent many years searching for a way to end to the dragons rein once and for all. He created a great army of constructs to battle the great beasts and avoid anymore humanoid bloodshed. A final stand was made in the great desert of Arnore between many brave men and Roboc's massive construct army. After a long and hard battle in a final act of desperation, Roboc cast a great spell to bring down the final remaining dragons. But in doing so he sacrificed his life force for the saftey and well being of the land he loved. At the center of Roboc's attack a single tree with Red leaves grew and an Oasis formed. This lead to the great city of glass known as Arnore. Many towns still have the large Ballistas at their gates, but many haven't been used in a very long time and some are even greatly rusted.
Arnore
After the great battle was complete many people would visit the site which now included an ever growing tree left by the Now Famous Wizard Roboc. The area started to become a tourist trap but quickly grew into a large and busting town. Wizards from the Wizard Tower College created a large permanent dome that allowed the temperature to be much more tolerable since the area was quickly increasing in population as more came to the newly formed Oasis. Being surrounded by sand allowed the production of glass to be a very simple commdity. Many houses and shops were made with large beautiful windows and a castle with many beautiful stained glass pieces depicting tales of Battle that look place here. Outside of the dome the sun was dangerous and brutal. A crafty gnome made two large towers with glass orbs large enough to fit a medium humanoid creature inside them. They sit high above the dome and as the sun came over the mountains anything inside would quickly burn to ash in the dangerously hot temperatures created inside the Spheres. These were used as a final punishment for those who caused great harm to land of Palperoth. They haven't been used for years since all the criminals now reside in the Crater of Vlas.
