Matt brought up a good question: Can we fix cameras to dice boxes for real dice rolling?
Please discuss. I will put in my two cents later.

My opinion is no, simply because we have "technical difficulties" as it is to add another outside element in while having issues isn't a good idea, after those other issues are ironed out maybe, however every person rolling real die in real time, would not only take longer, but I really don't want to hear your dices rolls they sound like thunder and are louder than your own voice.

I would love to roll my own dice cause they actually like me as opposed to Roll 20 but I don't want to do this. The GM would need to be constantly watching the skype window to make sure our rolls are legit. Plus we cant secretly do rolls without people hearing it or seeing it happen. /gr for life

I agree with Reno's logic. Great in concept, however technical difficulties could be a issue.

I'm personally not really on board with rolling via webcam. I agree that it does add another element to the online scene which is more stuff that is bound to go wrong. I think we should just save the dice for in person sessions, which we need more of by the way. Plus, even if it was working properly, it's another window that I personally have to keep checking/alt tabbing. It's not that I don't trust you to not fudge your rolls, it's just easier to use as much as possible on roll20.
With that said, this discussion is not closed if you wish to continue. I know roll20 has a webcam option, but I keep those windows closed because it takes up a lot of my screen.

It's been almost a month of this discussion being silent. This has been closed and added to the Court Rulings with the decision that web cams will not be used to roll dice.
