Wades-In-Embers stumbled through the cluttered streets attempting to follow the mysterious woman, but he was not learned in the art of tracking in urbanesque environs, and she slipped away lost amongst the milling folk and contorted walkways. He felt panic begin to rise within him as he realized his wandering had been aimless, leading him astray of a known path. He took a moment to compose himself then looked to find a way to something more familiar. The morning mists were beginning to dissipate, and to the east he could see the sun beginning to break through. A single luminous beam was casting down through the clouds. It's golden ray seemed to beckon him. A sign from the goddess, surely! The young ifrit began to move in that direction. A few moments of weaving through the tangled alleys led him to the focus of the beam. He stopped short of stepping into is brilliance as he saw the scene before him. Standing tall amidst the shinning sunray was an effigy of the goddess Sarenrae. Her angelic visage was carved in shining stone, and beneath her sat a young woman, entranced in prayer. The sunbeam reflected off of her silver hair in a radiant display, reminiscent of the goddess. He stood motionless, not daring to intrude.

Arabella could hear the rustle of trees from around her and feel the warmth of the sun on her closed eye lids. The soft breeze seemed to whisper "rrreeellllaaaxxxx."
Her mind wandered again...
Knelling inside the temple of Sarenrae, a song of worship rose around her.
"Compassion and peace are our virtues redemption is is always at hand healing is something we all do converting all that we can..."
"Taking this oath of faith means that I will be one with my tribe and finally able to follow my calling", she whispered to herself as she poured her lifeforce into a burning bronze basin in front of her at the base of Sarenrae's beautiful statue, "I am ready."
As she stared at the fire and felt the stifling heat hit her face, her mind began to return to the present.
"I am ready", she whispered once again.

The young ifrit stood entranced by the scene. He felt the light of the goddess upon him, and his hand clutched his mother's obsidian pendant of Sarenrae. He stumbled forward towards the shrine and pulled out a small candle. He carefully set it upon the base of the statue among the other offerings and whispered an incantation with eyes closed, "Lady of the Dawn, hear my words as I offer this gift to you. A sign to represent your eternal light among the darkness. Grant me the flame from within as I seek to spread your word."
A small flicker of flame leapt from his outstretched fingers as he cast spark upon the candle wick. It slowly ignited and began to burn steadily, sending small wisps of curling smoke into the sky. He stood and backed away from the shrine. His feet felt for purchase upon the stone floor, however the morning dew still clung to it. He let out a cry as his robe caught between boot and stone as his footing gave way. He tumbled back from the shrine onto the hard stone, knocking the wind from his lungs fro a brief moment. He lay there dazed as he saw the shrine offerings flung about into the air by his blunder.

"What was that?!" Jonathan thought. He had just finished putting out his campfire and cleaning up his site before he heard what sounded like a cry of pain. "Haven't heard a single thing all day out this way..." He snatched up the spear he had been using for a walking stick and broke out into a light jog towards the commotion. He wasn't exactly sure why he was 'looking for trouble', but he felt that someone was in danger.
He finally burst through some low thicket and came across the scene at the shrine. He glanced from the woman, then to the young man on the ground. His eyes narrowed and he gripped the spear with both hands.
"What's going on, here?"

Arabella was unceremoniously yanked back into the world by a load crash. Her eyes shot open, her heart began to beat rapidly, and she readied for combat... that was until she saw a smallish humanlike figure lying flat on his back in a pile of offerings.
"Sigh... idiot" Arabella rose to her feet and moved to lean over the shape.
She looked down and immediately recognized the red dressing from the tavern...
(OOC: She totally ignored or did not even hear Jonathan)

Wades-In-Embers returned to reality as the spinning world began to come back into focus. "S-s-sorry!" He stammered as he began to clamor to his feet. Anxiously trying to right all of the strewn about offerings. His cheeks flushed as he saw the undine woman staring down at him with a scowl.
"Oh, uh-um, I can e-explain..." A crash of broken twigs and moving brush caught his attention and he saw an armed man burst into the clearing, calling out in alarm.
A moment of silence passed as he stood dumbfounded by the interloper. Not sure if what to do or say he simply gave the man a sheepish smile, "Um...hello."

Jonathan stood, dumbfounded at the sight he saw. He felt foolish for rushing into a potentially dangerous situation without thinking of the consequences of his actions. What if this was an actual emergency? "So much for that..." he muttered, and lowered the spear back down to a walking position. He shook his head, more so at himself than at the two strangers, as he walked away back towards the center of "town".
"Kids..."

Wades-In-Embers watched the man shrug and walk away. He turned back to the shrine with a confused look on his face. The realized the undine woman was leering over him. He took a quick step back, "Uh, sorry, I did not mean to intrude. Please forgive me." He pleaded apologetically as he bowed slightly.

Arabella's anger subsided as she glanced over the ifrit in from of her. He seemed small compared to her, and not just physically. He seemed humble, or lost; she could not tell. And yet, something about him drew her closer. She took once step towards him but the heat from his body forced her back.
"Who are you?" Arabella whispered, cleared her throat, and then with more confidence, "I said, who are you?"
She tried to act indifferent to him, but she was unsure if it was working.
Something about him seemed to draw her in.
